Following consultations with individuals with disabilities, parents and carers and teachers and other professionals within education in Belize, Realize is delighted to share the Education4All report.
This report focuses on the experience of pupils with disabilities and their families in accessing education, and the experiences of teachers in responding to the needs of pupils in an inclusive education setting.
The 3 main findings of the report are that:
Children with disabilities are not being supported to fulfill their potential
Families feel alone as they seek to gain an education for their child
Teachers are not equipped to support the inclusion of children with disabilities
Through sharing the voices and experiences on all sides of education we hope to be able to create a platform for sustainable change which leads to positive inclusion in the Belizean education system.
